fairtax.org is awesome, would cause massive wealth creation

"Enacting the FairTax would usher in a new period of American economic growth, create new jobs across the country and give American citizens more control over their own paychecks." - Representative Steve King How YOU Can Advance the FairTax! Steve King By Congressman Steve King Educate Yourself About the FairTax The FairTax is not just a transformational tax reform proposal; it's a dramatically different vision for America. Most politicians don't have the guts to stand on principal and invest themselves in changing America for the better because it means taking a risk. If those politicians are going break the pattern and change our government, you must learn everything you can about the FairTax in order to start the dialog with them and successfully create a new FairTax supporter. You and I know that the best way to collect revenue at the federal level is the FairTax. As FairTax supporters, you are unofficial ambassadors of this transformative proposal and it's important that you understand all the merits of H.R. 25 and S. 13 and how the FairTax works. Contact Your Representative Your Representative in Congress needs to hear from you. Whether you write them a letter, call their offices, or email them, they will never know how many of their constituents support the FairTax if they don't hear from you. They'll also never choose to support the FairTax without you demonstrating to them the consequence for refusing to support real change. Tell them you support the FairTax because the IRS and its 100 pound gorilla of a tax code is suffocating your small business or your family budget. Go to House.gov to look up your Congressman. http://www.fairtax.org/site/R?i=-UIhkvUr0tQVFs6Wfe5pPg http://www.fairtax.org/site/R?i=3k3WTRXbBWGSVr1OrehHAQ Get Involved with the Races Near You We must elect more pro-FairTax members of Congress. Find out who is running in your district and support those candidates that support the FairTax. If they support the FairTax, it's likely they have a firm and thoughtful vision for America. At campaign events and town halls, challenge politicians to either support the FairTax or ask them to offer a substantive reason not to. Know how to defend the FairTax, so even if you haven't convinced the politician, you've convinced those in the audience. Tell Your Friends and Neighbors The FairTax's success so far has been the result of a groundswell due to the work of supporters like all of you. In our society, people listen to their friends and neighbors and they actually care about what they think. Don't hesitate to get involved in grassroots activities in your area to let your peers know that you support the FairTax. Chances are, once they learn about it, they'll support it too. http://www.fairtax.org/site/R?i=8HQkyEvv7eBvoRQdseC59Q Use Social Media The usefulness of social media can never be discounted. Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are great ways to advertise your support for the FairTax and network with other FairTax supporters. One great way to show your support is to "like" FairTax supporters on Facebook. You can do this with Representatives, Senators and other FairTax supporters who champion the cause in the media. This helps increase their visibility in social media circles, on the internet and with the media and gives them more leverage to advocate for the FairTax to an ever growing audience. To see how this works, click here to visit the FairTax.org Facebook page and click "like". Then search for your favorite FairTax supporters and do the same for them. http://www.fairtax.org/site/R?i=7Tm8-WBESE-QexxPk_JzLA - Congressman Steve King Iowa Fifth District, SteveKing.House.gov http://www.fairtax.org/site/R?i=x9RnhH1Z0QvXE1WtGWay9A The FairTax Picture of the Week Dare Again - John Linder speaking 1 Rep Steve King speaks on the Iowa FairTax bus tour, 2007 The FairTax in the News Johnson: Let's get America moving again - The Washington Times http://www.fairtax.org/site/R?i=eAKYiFeICm2TkzTMA6zbRw ...First, we need to get rid of the income tax. When our first great Supreme Court justice, John Marshall, equated the power to tax and the power to destroy, he was predicting what's happening to our country right now. Giant, slow corporations spend their money on lobbying because tax avoidance is where their profit is. General Electric earned $14.2 billion in 2010 and paid zero taxes on it. Why? Because it has the lobbyists to get subsidies and tax breaks... We also need to get rid of payroll taxes. Look at it from the perspective of employers for a moment. When they want to hire someone, it costs more than just the wage they're paying. They have to pay payroll taxes, including for Social Security and Medicare. That cost is about 10 percent of the wages they pay an employee. Remove that burden, and employers will be able to hire 10 percent more people. With an unemployment rate of 10 percent, why wouldn't we jump at this chance? The Fair-tax replaces employment and payroll taxes... - Governor Gary Johnson 'Fair tax' also has homegrown fans - NJ.com http://www.fairtax.org/site/R?i=0Z3p9Ao3f8-F_ZkDqOZ3pQ ...I promote the fair tax because - for good reasons - I truly believe in it and what it can do for the United States... First, the fair tax proposal (a type of national sales tax) eliminates payroll taxes - which are highly regressive. Second, the fair tax eliminates other tax costs embedded in the price of everything you buy and every service you use - which hit the poor the hardest. Third, The fair tax is made progressive through a "Family Consumption Allowance," or "prebate," which reimburses every household in America that has a valid Social Security number, in advance, for tax on consumption of essentials up to the poverty level... - Randy Poulson, Woolwich Township The February FairTax Webinar With Special Topic: Actual Dollars the FairTax Puts in Your Pocket Compared to Our Current Tax Code When: Thursday, February 23, 2012 Time: 8 pm Eastern, 7 pm Central, 6 pm Mountain, 5 pm Pacific Where: At your personal computer anywhere!
