Birth Certificate Author Corsi, Publisher Sue Esquire for $120 Million

Jerome Corsi, who wrote a book calling for President Barack Obama to release his official birth certificate, has teamed up with the conservative website WordNetDaily in a $120 million lawsuit against Esquire magazine and its publisher, reports DailyCaller.com.
Corsi and WordNetDaily editor and CEO Joseph Farah filed the suit against Esquire, Hearst Communications, and the writer of an article lampooning Corsi’s book “Where’s the Birth Certificate?”, alleging defamation and other offenses that hurt sales of the book. Farah’s WND Books published the book.
Obama released his birth certificate online April 27, beating Corsi’s book release date. After the book’s release, the Esquire article falsely claimed that Farah would refund the money for any preorders and destroy all 200,000 copies of the book. The article contained fake quotes, one of which had Farah saying that he couldn’t “in good conscience publish it and expect anyone to believe it.”
Esquire later posted a disclaimer, saying that the article was satirical.
Attorney Larry Klayman, representing Corsi and Farah, said the defendants “will pay dearly,” and that publication of the article “was amateurish, rank, and it hurt.”
