go mitt!

Gavin,

President Obama and the liberals in Congress just don't get it.

Because they are more committed to growing the government than the economy, every action they have taken has deepened and lengthened our economic downturn. The private sector has retreated, frightened by their agenda and paralyzed by the uncertainty, lack of predictability, and outright hostility their policies have engendered.

Thanks to the innovative, can-do spirit of the American people, the economy will recover, even with the burdens President Obama and his liberal Congress have put upon it. But to speed the recovery and to ensure its long-term ascent, it is up to us as Republicans to offer an alternative course. I offer some suggestions on how to get our economy back on track in an op-ed in today's Boston Globe.

It is also up to us to support fiscally conservative candidates -- who are committed to pro-growth policies that will turn our economy around -- in November's midterm election. In less than three months, all 435 Congressional seats, one third of the U.S. Senate, and 37 Governorships are at stake, and I know that with your continued support, I'll be doing everything I can to help.

Your generous support has already given me the resources to get involved in over 175 races across the country this year, and for my PAC to send over $500,000 in direct support to conservative candidates and causes. Over the coming weeks, I'll continue to help Republicans in key battleground elections, and I'll be on the road campaigning on behalf of our candidates virtually every day between Labor Day and Election Day.

Of course, none of this is possible without your continued support, and I hope you will help our efforts by making a generous contribution of $35, $50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000, $2,500, or even the maximum $5,000 today.

Gavin, it's time for a growth and jobs agenda to replace the special interest political agendas that we have endured over the past decades. We need leaders who will stimulate the economy, not the government. With so much at stake, I hope you will stand with me today and on November 2nd in getting our country back on the right track.

Best,

Mitt Romney
