SUNWfilebench is the recommended way to benchmark your disks on Solaris
SUNWfilebench is the recommended way to benchmark your disks on Solaris. It even allows you to benchmark specific subsystems. It should be in /usr/benchmarks on an OpenSolaris system. See http://www.solarisinternals.com/wiki/index.php/FileBench for how to get started using it effectively. You can also use filebench on Linux.
