3 don't use popular os cuz shitty expensive vendors support it like redhat
4 spend your money on developers and commodity ahrdware and bandwidth
5 use load balancing and ldap and software raid
6 don't use virtualization
7 if you can get fewer more powerful boxen
8 pay fewer developers over market and promote from within
9 don't use ms office
10 use free os desktop like icewm
11 use openbsd or archlinux
12 dont use a realtional db, and if you do use firebird or psotgresql
13 build your own tools, and strive for simplicity over everything
14 document with plain text no shitty graphic shit like flow chart bullshit, at msot allow html tags, with basic hand coded html
15 teach your people few basic tags of html and use that not a wiki
