Facts NO "Progressives" Will Admit To Regarding Sotomayor...

Over the past few weeks of the Sotomayor bid for the Supreme Court, I have not met ONE supporter who
could tell me why they supported her beyond the fact that she is a latina and a woman. NOT ONE.
Does anyone find it odd that the "progressives" who pride themselves on not judging on anything
but character (and not color) actually make judgements based soley on ethnicity and gender.
Further, it would seem that "progressives" are perfectly OK with Sotomayor's plainly expressed
ethnocentricity, evidenced by both her "wise latna" speech, as well as her membership in The Council
on La Raza. (NOT incidetally, The RACE )
One may be well assured that if any white male candidate was a member of a group called,
Council on The White Race, he would be immediately decried by "progressives" as a racist.
So it is that I ask those "progressives" why they tolerate ethnocentrism hen it emanates
from a latina ?
Finally, can any of you tell me why she is actually qualifed to be a Supreme Court justice
outside of the fact that she is a latina ?
I await enlightenment.
